dr Raees Calafato

Raees Calafato is an Associate Professor of English at the University of South-Eastern Norway. He has a doctorate in foreign language didactics from the University of Bergen (UiB) and a master’s degree in applied linguistics and TESOL from University College London. He is co-leader of the research group Flerspråklighet, læring og utvikling at USN and a founding member of the research group Multilingualism on My Mind at UiB. His current research interests cover multilingualism in education and society, teacher education and self-development, learner and teacher psychology, and literature in language education, including multimodal texts. He is a peer reviewer for several journals, including Language Teaching Research, Studies in Educational Evaluation, and Teaching and Teacher Education. He has published works on multilingual pedagogies, language learning motivation, family language policy, literacy assessment, and other topics in publications like System, Journal of Multilingual and Multicultural Development, Applied Linguistics Review, Foreign Language Annals, and Review of Education.
